STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL: Wednesday, March 8th
COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF VERMONT ACCESS DAY: Jessica Dambach, PAML Guidance Counselor, will be taking the 8th grade Apollo students to CCV’s Access Day on Thursday, March 9th where they will attend mini classes, meet with a student panel, learn about free dual enrollment for high school courses, and tour CCV’s facility. CCV will provide lunch. Students will depart PAML by bus at 9:15am and will return at approximately 12:15pm.
NEWPORT JUNIOR HIGH MUSIC FESTIVAL: On Friday, March 10th, Dan Bruce will travel to North Country Union High School in Newport with middle level band and chorus students for a one-day music festival. Please check with your student for festival information and permission slip that were sent home. Students will depart PAML by bus at 8:45am to spend the day rehearsing in Newport followed by an evening concert at the high school starting at 6:30pm. Concert ticket prices: $5 each or $15 maximum for a family. Parents/Guardians are required to pick up their student after the concert at North Country Union High School or please make alternate arrangements for their transportation back to Morrisville.

LOST & FOUND BIN: If your student has misplaced or lost an article of clothing (i.e., mittens, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, snow pants), please have them check the yellow ‘Lost & Found’ bin in the PA Cafeteria before leaving school on Friday, February 24th for Winter Recess. Any remaining items in the bin will be donated to Good Will.

§ 1075. Passing school bus
(a) The
operator of a motor vehicle, including authorized emergency vehicles under
section 1015 of this title, upon meeting or overtaking a vehicle marked and
equipped as provided in section 1283 of this title which has stopped on the
highway for the purpose of receiving or discharging public or private
schoolchildren, shall stop his or her vehicle immediately and shall keep it
stationary while the flashing red signal lights are in operation.
(b) The driver of a vehicle need not stop upon a highway with separate
roadways upon meeting or overtaking a school bus which is on a different
roadway, or upon a controlled access highway where the school bus is stopped in
a loading zone which is a part of or adjacent to the highway at a point where
pedestrians are not permitted to cross the roadway. (Added 1971, No. 258 (Adj.
Sess.), § 3, eff. March 1, 1973; amended 1975, No. 149 (Adj. Sess.), § 3; 1981,
No. 97, § 3.)

The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) group attended State Day on Wednesday with Mr. Hathaway. They had a chance to meet with local representatives as well as be a part of the action at the statehouse that day.

HOMEMADE CHILI DINNER TO BENEFIT THE CHORUS/BAND TRIP: Come one, come all for a hearty, warm bowl of chili on Friday, February 17th, 5:00-8:00pm, in the PA Cafeteria. Price: Single - $8, Family of four - $25, Under the age of 2 - free!
COMMUNITY BREAKFAST TO BENEFIT THE DANCE TEAM: Breakfast will be served in the PA Cafeteria on Saturday, February 18th, from 8:00-11:30am. Price: Adults - $10, Kids under the age of 6 - free!
WINTER TREK FOR WARMTH TO BENEFIT THE FUEL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: Saturday, February 18th. Registration will be held from 9:00-10:00am in the PA Cafeteria, and the race starts at 10:00am behind the cafeteria.
PAML WINTER CARNIVAL: All middle level students will participate in the PAML Winter Carnival on Friday, February 24th. Some winter carnival activities will occur outside, therefore, please have your student bring appropriate outdoor clothing to ensure they stay dry and warm.

WINOOSKI VALLEY COLLABORATIVE 2017-2018 LOTTERY FOR PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL CHOICE: Applications are now available for students who will be in grades 9-12 next school year on the Stowe High School and Peoples Academy websites. Go to: www.stoweschoolsvt.com or www.morrisville.org. At the top of the page click on ‘Our Schools,’ click on ‘Stowe High or PA,’ and, at the top of the this page click on ‘For Parents,’ then click on ‘School Choice’ for information and the application. If your student is interested in attending a high school outside of the district next year, please return the completed application to your student's guidance office by February 24, 2017.
